APP-MOBILITY

Shaping the future of apprenticeship mobility across Europe

The APP-MOBILITY project is run by partners and universities of the European Dual Studies University – EU4Dual.

We are creating a harmonised system for international apprenticeship mobility that bridges education and industry across borders.

What is APP-MOBILITY?

APP-MOBILITY is a unique initiative that harmonises apprenticeship mobility for joint bachelor, master, and PhD programmes across Europe.

We blend hands-on, industry-based learning with academic excellence. This makes it easier for students to work and study in various countries.

We are creating a unified framework for joint dual education apprenticeship mobility across Europe.

Our goals

We are creating a fair and unified system to help students in dual study programmes gain real-world experience abroad.

Our vision

We envision graduates equipped with unique, globally competitive skills gained through our new apprenticeship mobility framework.

Our outputs

We pioneer apprenticeship standards and evaluations. We also provide 6 industrial mobility programmes, and a searchable register of 200 companies.

Who is it for

Students and apprentices:

Young people in international dual or higher vocational programmes. This includes those from disadvantaged backgrounds who face barriers to education and mobility.

Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)

Universities and vocational education and training (VET) institutions in the EU4Dual Alliance and APP Mobility project.

Employers

Industry partners that host apprentices and work with educational programmes.

Policymakers

Government bodies that oversee education and labour market regulations.

Why it Matters

Despite having the right policies, Europe still struggles with fragmented systems.

That’s why we are:

  • Standardising credit transfer and contract protocols
  • Creating digital tools to track and manage apprenticeships
  • Launching pilots in real joint degree programmes
  • Building support structures and advisory networks
  • Focusing on inclusive, equitable mobility access

This means apprentices will move more freely, employers will host with confidence, and HEIs will align across borders.
