About APP-MOBILITY

The APP-MOBILITY project is run by partners and universities of the European Dual Studies University – EU4Dual.

We are creating a harmonised system for international apprenticeship mobility that bridges education and industry across borders.

Project details

Our vision

We have launched APP-MOBILITY to build a strong system for apprenticeship mobility in EU countries.

While mobility policies exist, there is no unified approach for university alliances on a European scale.

APP-MOBILITY combines classroom education with hands-on learning at work. It offers joint bachelor, master, and PhD programs.

We promote cooperation between universities and industry partners. This helps graduates gain unique skills that are competitive worldwide.

Our goals

We are creating a fair system to help students in dual study programmes get real-world experience abroad.

APP-MOBILITY unites universities, industry partners, and public authorities. Together, they make apprenticeship mobility work across borders, systems, and expectations.

Our project addresses key challenges through:

Apprentice network

Enhancing support structures with a comprehensive network for apprentices

Collaboration

Fostering collaboration between education providers, authorities, SMEs, and social partners

Standadising procedures

Standardising mobility procedures for credit transfer and work contracts

Mobility

Increasing mobility opportunities and quality of experiences abroad

Harmonising regulation

Harmonising regulations to simplify apprenticeship periods abroad

Specifically, the project will focus on

Credit transfer mechanisms

We are developing standardised procedures for recognising and transferring credits earned during mobility programs. This includes clear guidelines for calculating credit for specific apprenticeships.

Alignment of work contracts

We are simplifying the negotiation and implementation of work contracts between students and companies in different EU countries. This addresses legal barriers and cultural differences to ensure contracts are mutually beneficial and compliant with regulations.

Implementing joint programmes

We are promoting joint Bachelor, Master and PhD programmes between EU universities and companies. This involves developing curricula that integrate academic and practical components.

Expected impacts

The outcomes will feature a typology of dual education models, standard evaluation tools, and aligned contracts. All these elements will help create a more efficient EU education system.
