Background
The APP-Mobility project aims to create a cohesive, efficient framework for joint dual education apprenticeship mobility across European university alliances. To achieve this, we are analysing current dual education models. Your responses will help us develop a typology of apprenticeship mobility and identify opportunities to harmonise different apprenticeship models.

This questionnaire adopts specific terminology to refer to:

Mobility only within dual education programmes, that is, an educational approach that combines an academic component (e.g. teaching in the classroom) with a work/practical component (e.g. internships, traineeship, apprenticeship, work-oriented project etc…).

Apprenticeships, both as defined and related to Alternance training – “systematic, long-term training alternating periods at the workplace and in an education or training institution” (Glossary | CEDEFOP, 2025), as well as in a broader context to encompass other forms of work-integrated mobility, such as:

  • Internships: “a short-term work experience that typically lasts a few weeks to a few months.” (Applying for Internships and Traineeships in Europe | European Education Area, 2023).
  • Training placements: “Period of time, usually forming part of an education or training programme spent in a company or organisation to get work experience.” (Glossary | CEDEFOP, 2025).
